Burger King’s 70th Birthday Celebrations Include a New Pie and a Week of Deals

Saturday, June 1 is a milestone birthday for Burger King. The fast food giant is turning 70 and, we have to say, the King looks great for his age. (Forget Botox, maybe flame-grilling is what keeps you young.)
You don’t have to send Burger King a card, but the chain is making sure that everyone has a reason to celebrate. Starting today, Monday, May 13, the Miami-based chain will be serving a new limited-time, thematically appropriate dessert. The just-released Birthday Pie Slice features a cookie-crumb crust and birthday-cake-flavored pie filling, topped with cake bites, rainbow sprinkles, and a generous dollop of whipped topping.
“Since 1954, Burger King has prided itself on two things — flame-grilling and letting guests ‘Have It Your Way.’ And, while a lot has changed over the last 70 years, we’ve always remained committed to our guests,” Pat O’Toole, Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “As we look to celebrate our milestone birthday this June, we are proud of the legacy this brand has built and on which we stand, and are beyond grateful for our royal guests who have made it all possible.”
Beyond that, Burger King is keeping the party going in the run-up to its big day with seven days of specials for members of its Royal Perks loyalty program. Starting on Tuesday, May 28 — which also happens to be National Hamburger Day — the chain is offering a free hamburger with any other purchase of at least 70 cents or more. And the rest of the week includes the following deals:
Wednesday, May 29: Customers can score a free Croissan’wich breakfast sandwich with a purchase of 70 cents or more.
Thursday, May 30: Purchases of 70 cents or more get you a free medium-sized soft drink.
Friday, May 31: You can get a free cheeseburger with a purchase of 70 cents or more.
Saturday, June 1: On Burger King’s actual birthday, the chain is giving away free Birthday Pie Slices with a purchase of 70 cents or more.
Sunday, June 2: The chain is offering free Original Crispy Chicken Sandwiches with a purchase of 70 cents or more.
Monday, June 3: A Whopper Jr. is the daily freebie with (say it with us) any purchase of 70 cents or more.
In order to claim any of these deals, you’ll need to be a Royal Perks member, and place your order in-store at any participating Burger King restaurant, online at BK.com, or through the Burger King app.
