This California-based chain just opened second Meridian restaurant. Will Boise get one?

Mountain Mike’s Pizza is feasting on the Boise area.

After launching a single Meridian location at 3340 N. Eagle Road in 2022, the California-based chain has followed up with two more this year in the Treasure Valley.

Idaho’s second Mountain Mike’s opened in January at 51 N. Union St. in Star, the growing suburb northwest of Boise.

And now another Meridian restaurant just arrived — at 4610 N Linder Road, Suite 110.

Like the others, the newest store is owned and operated by Idaho franchisee Gem State Pies, which has rights to develop two more locations in the area.

Mountain Mike’s is known for its “legendary crispy, curly pepperonis, Mountain-sized pizzas, and dough made fresh daily,” according to a press release.

So what about a Mountain Mike’s in Boise proper?

It’s coming, a publicist said in an email — “soon.” No word on the possible whereabouts.

Founded in 1978 in Palo Alto, Mountain Mike’s is well-known on the West Coast. But the company — headquartered in Newport Beach — has made out-of-state expansion a priority. There are now nearly 300 locations.

Mountain Mike’s offers a traditional, family-style pizza experience. “With a menu of signature pizzas, chicken wings, garlic knots, fresh salads, shareable desserts and a selection of beer and wine, there’s something for everyone at Mountain Mike’s,” the press release proclaims.

“Boasting 10 big-screen televisions, the newest Meridian restaurant is bound to be a go-to destination for sports fans, no matter their preferred team. The location also includes an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar weekday lunch buffet, kids’ arcade area, party room, a selection of craft beer and wine, complimentary Wi-Fi and an outdoor patio for al fresco dining.”

At Mountain Mike’s, you build your own pizza or order signature pies. The standard pep peroni variety ranges from $7.50 for a 6-inch mini to $21.99 for a 14-inch, 14-slice large. Or climb that hunger peak with a 20-inch, 20-slice “Mountain”-sized pie for $33.99.

You’ll drop a bit more for specialty pizzas.

At the Meridian store on Eagle Road, Mountain Mike’s has pulled a 3.8-star out of 5-star rating on Google and 3.3 on Yelp.

Hungry? A solid way to try the new Mountain Mike’s on Linder is the lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. It includes all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar, plus a drink, for $12.99. (It’s $10.99 without the soda.)

Along with dine-in and takeout, Mountain Mike’s has its own delivery drivers to go along with typical third-party options.
