'When Calls the Heart' Star Erin Krakow Just Posted a Cryptic Instagram About Elizabeth's Love Life
The season 7 finale of When Calls the Heart left many Hearties wondering if Elizabeth ends up with Lucas or Nathan ... or neither.
Many have taken to Twitter to tell Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, and the show's creator Brian Bird that they want "Elizabeth to make a decision already."
In a recent tweet, Erin confirmed that she's picking someone in season 8.
Hearties, the moment you've all been waiting for is almost here: When the show returns for season 8, Elizabeth Thatcher is finally going to settle the season-long debate between Nathan and Lucas.
Although the season 7 finale of When Calls the Heart led some fans to believe that Elizabeth picked Nathan, the actress has remained coy if the "hug heard around the world" was actually an indicator of her ultimate decision. Previously, fans voiced their frustrations with Elizabeth's never-ending love triangle, even saying that the constant back-and-forth between the two men was "shameful." But Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, has remained loyal to the storyline, promising fans that "there will be romance in season 8."
The next season, which is expected to drop in early 2021, will start with "a boom," according to the show's creator, Brian Bird. While it's unclear if this means the love triangle will be resolved at the start of the season, Erin dropped a not-so-subtle hint that it'll happen at one point or another. Following the final day of shooting season 8, the actress posted a photo of her character hugging herself along with a heartfelt message to the show's cast and crew. At the very end of her post, she dropped a major clue about what's ahead: "Oh and btw - Elizabeth won’t have to hug herself much longer... 😉"
Hearties went straight to the comments to share their excitement and theories about who Elizabeth will choose. The fans seem to be split: Some are #TeamNathan all the way, while others are loyal to #TeamLucas. "Team Nathan here all the way! They are better suited for each other," one fan commented. " I have been rewatching all the seasons on Netflix and I miss Jack so much!! But I really hope you end up with Lucas, he is a much better fit for you than Nathan," another wrote.
If you look closely at the photo that Erin posted, you'll notice she's wearing a stack of rings on that finger. "Yay!! Elizabeth is wearing a ring!! Glad they didn’t drag that out for too many seasons," one wrote. A few Hearties pointed out that the rings aren't exactly tied to her new relationship — Elizabeth never took off her wedding rings from Jack after she passed, so it's likely the same ones.
Still, it seems like there's new (or old?) love on the way for Elizabeth, which is exactly what fans have been hoping for!
