Camilla Parker Bowles Shares Her Biggest Fear During Royal Tour
Camilla Parker Bowles nearly let her fears get in the way during a recent royal engagement.
Yesterday, the Duchess of Cornwall, 73, kicked off day one of the annual tour of Devon and Cornwall alongside her husband, Prince Charles. The couple celebrated the opening of a new footbridge at Tintagel Castle and even tested it out for themselves.
This prompted Bowles to get candid about her biggest fear: heights. According to Hello! magazine, the duchess joked with the staff, claiming she “had a great head for heights.”
As the royal couple walked along the new footbridge, Bowles reportedly told Prince Charles: “I’m not looking down, I’m looking above.”
This is the first time we’ve heard about the royal’s fear of heights, but we’re not totally surprised, since Bowles previously revealed that she isn’t keen on flying. The duchess didn’t specify why, but her new confession pretty much answers our questions.
During the visit, Bowles learned more about the bridge and the people who restored it. Not only is the site connected to the legend of King Arthur, but it also serves as a historic link between Tintagel Castle and the island wards. The footbridge’s gorgeous coastal views are just icing on the cake.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are following all social distancing guidelines during the royal tour of Devon and Cornwall. This may include wearing face masks (when necessary) and limiting the amount of people, according to royal photographer Samir Hussein.
Guess parachuting off the Buckingham Palace balcony is out of the question (for Bowles, at least).
