Canada should spend to encourage vaccinations

As vaccination efforts continue to ramp up around the world, some companies have started offering incentives and cash bonuses for employees that are fully vaccinated. For example, Amazon has said it will offer new hires in the U.S. $100 for showing proof of vaccination. Governments are also introducing new vaccine incentives. Ohio started a COVID-19 lottery, giving away millions to those that have been vaccinated.

Sean Speer, fellow in residence at the Public Policy Forum, says governments and businesses should be doing “everything we can” to encourage the population to get vaccinated, particularly those that are considered “vaccine hesitant.” On this episode of Crisis Management, Speer explains why it’s a good idea for governments to spend money to encourage and incentivize more people to get vaccinated.
