From Woman's Day

  • Lori Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli were recently charged in a massive college admissions cheating scandal.

  • Authorities claim the couple spent $500,000 to recruit their daughters Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade to USC's crew team.

  • On March 13, Lori turned herself in and posted $1 million bond.

When news broke about Lori Loughlin's involvement in one of the largest college cheating scandals in recent history, everyone turned to her castmates for answers - and of course, they kept their lips sealed. Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure, who plays Aunt Becky's niece, was the first to break her silence with a seemingly pointed Instagram story.

Coincident or not, Candace posted this Instagram story the same day Lori turned herself in to authorities in Los Angeles and posted $1 million bond. It's not totally out of the blue, though: This message is part of the actress's daily Lenten series where she's focusing on one attribute of Jesus - mercy, for example - each day to grow deeper in her faith. This post in particular explains that sinners should be awarded mercy not punishment for their wrongdoings.

As of Thursday, March 14, it looks like the negative comments about the scandal got the best of Candace, causing her to disable all Instagram comments. Earlier last week, Lori deactivated her account.

Although Candace has yet to specifically comment on the scandal, it's undoubtedly a tricky situation for her and the rest of the Fuller House cast. For starters, Lori's involvement in the show's future is now up in the air. But more importantly, Candace and Lori are also close friends who attend events together with their college-age kids. That's right: Candace is also a mom to two college students, daughter Natasha and son Lev. In fact, Natasha and Lori's daughter Olivia Jade, who is currently wrapped up in the scandal, have posted several YouTube videos and Instagram posts together in recent years.

Still, the rest of the Fuller House cast is staying quiet about the situation. When asked about the scandal by paparazzi, both John Stamos and Jodie Sweetin responded "No comment" or "No." Dave Coulier and Bob Saget have avoided questions altogether.
