Care home residents give younger generation some of their best advice

Pensioners at a care home in the United States have been posting daily messages of advice to young people on social media.

Residents at St Clair nursing centre, in Missouri, were praised for their simple but effective notes that included ‘Be kind to your parents’ and ‘Be nice to everyone’.

Occupants including Bob, 91, and Leota, 99, were snapped holding a whiteboard that had their message written on it.

The images were then posted on Facebook.

Bob’s daily note that says ‘Find someone to love, and keep loving them’ has proved so popular the nursing home is considering releasing t-shirts with the advice to raise money for activities.

A #BeLikeBob hashtag has been shared more 129,000 times so the new clothing line should be popular.

St Clair nursing centre activities manager Debbie Michael came up with the idea of the daily messages last month.
