Carey Mulligan Wore a Fresh-off-the-Runway Optical Illusion Dress From Schiaparelli
She's the first celeb to wear the look.
Interesting shapes have made a refreshing return to the red carpet this season, and Carey Mulligan is hopping aboard the latest trend. The actress attended the premiere of her latest movie, Spaceman, at Berlinale 2024 in Berlin, Germany, and wore a look straight from Schiaparelli's latest spring 2024 couture show.
Mulligan donned Look 26 from the fashion collection, initially worn by Irina Shayk. The fitted black velvet dress includes flowy, beige draping extending from its back and down towards the bottom hem of the gown. And according to Vogue, Mulligan is the first star to wear a look from the collection.
Shayk originally wore the look with nude heels that featured a pointed metallic toe, but the actress kept it red carpet chic with a pair of classic black pumps, minimal jewelry (a single ring and stud earrings), and a dusty pink lip to complete the look.
During the red carpet, Mulligan posed for photos alongside her Spaceman co-star Kunal Nayyar, Adam Sandler, and Paul Dano throughout the night.

The actress also brought back a shape from yester-year with her photo call look earlier in the day. The star wore an all-black suit, with its blazer sporting sky-high, pointed shoulder pads. Once again, the 38-year-old kept her accessories minimal, wearing simple black pumps, a silver ring, and matching huggie hoop earrings.
Fans of the Promising Young Woman actress can look forward to seeing what she wears next at the Oscars next month. She is up for Best Actress for her work in Netflix's Maestro.
