Carlos Correa celebrates World Series championship by proposing to his girlfriend

The Houston Astros World Series championship celebration took an unexpected turn thanks to shortstop Carlos Correa.

While being interviewed by FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal amid the hysteria, Correa calmly produced an engagement ring, went to one knee and popped the big question to his longtime girlfriend, Daniella Rodriguez.

If you thought the only thing this World Series was missing was a marriage proposal, you have it all now. And of course she said yes. It was only fairy tale endings for the Astros on this night.

Correa says he’s been planning the proposal for awhile now with the hope he could pop the question after a World Series championship. If that didn’t happen, Correa says there was a “Plan B,” but didn’t elaborate on what that might be.

What we’d like to know is if Correa had the ring with him the entire game. If not, who was in charge of getting it to him so he could propose on the field.

Rodriguez is a former Miss Texas who spends time working with charities like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Pink Ribbon Awareness and Special Olympics, according to FHM.

Her Instagram is filled with pictures from the Astros championship run.

Little did she know that when the biggest moment in Astros franchise history ultimately came, it would forever be linked to perhaps the biggest moment in her life, too.

Very well played, Carlos Correa. And a big congratulations to the happy couple.
