Tiger King's Carole Baskin has spoken out after the family of her missing husband Don Lewis aired an appeal advert during her Dancing With The Stars debut last night.

The animal rights activist and the founder of Big Cat Rescue became a household name earlier this year thanks to Netflix's Tiger King and her rivalry with Joe Exotic, who suggested she was responsible for husband Don's death.

Carole and Don married six years before he went missing in 1997. He was legally declared dead five years later, and she has always strongly denied having any involvement in his disappearance. After Tiger King aired, Carole wrote a lengthy blog post slamming the "salacious and sensational" series.

Despite her issues with the show, Carole has been enjoying her newfound fame and made her DWTS debut last night alongside 14 other celebrities. However, her performance ended up being over shadowed when ~during an advert break~ Don’s family made an appeal for anyone with information about his disappearance to come forward.

Along with offering a $100,000 (£77,800) reward, a family lawyer said in the ad paid for by Don's family, "Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997. His family deserves answers; they deserve justice. Do you know who did this or if Carole Baskin was involved?"

But the Tiger King star didn't seem at all fazed by it, telling the Metro today: "Someone - a reporter I won’t name - made sure that I knew about it 10 minutes before going out on the dance floor tonight, and you can see that it did not keep me from bringing the best performance of my two weeks of learning."

ICYMI, Carole scored 11 points last night.
