Carrie Underwood Is Warning Fans She Might Look Different Next Time She's on Stage

Bright blond locks, picture-perfect legs and a megawatt smile are all surefire characteristics we’ve come to expect from any Carrie Underwood appearance. But after a brutal fall she suffered at home in November, she's warning fans she might not look like herself when she returns to the big stage.

In a health update Underwood sent to her fan club Sunday, the country singer revealed that her fall required surgery after breaking her wrist, as well as a shocking 40 to 50 stitches on her face. "It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life," she writes. Underwood assures her fans that seven weeks after the incident, she’s healing, but, “not quite looking the same.”

In the singer’s latest selfie, her face is covered (we now understand why), but her caption makes no mention of any facial injuries.

“I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful," she says. "I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way.”

As she continues to heal, Underwood says she is hopeful. "I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way," she adds. "And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."
