Major life changes during lockdown may not be ideal, but somethings they can’t be helped as proven by the celebrity break-ups that have been reported in the past few months.

The pressure of spending all day, every day with your family is enough to test even the strongest of relationships, but not all unions can survive it as some of the high-profile splits show.

However, lockdown isn’t always to blame as some have made it emphatically clear that other factors were involved in the breakdown of their relationships.

Either way, troubled partnerships are a difficult thing to navigate at the best of times, never mind in the middle of a global pandemic.

Boyzone singer Shane Lynch announced in April that he had moved out of his family home because he and his wife of 13 years Sheena White were "at each other's throats".

He explained that pressures of lockdown saw difficulties emerge in their relationship, as he typically spends a lot of time on the road.

The couple, who share two daughters Billie, 11, and seven-year-old Marley, haven't necessarily parted ways for good as Lynch expressed hope they could work on their issues.

He said: “I’m praying every day me and my wife sort out our things and I get back to my kids.

“I pray the longer me and my wife are apart at this moment, during these difficult times, it builds a strongness so when we get back together life will continue to be amazing in the next 15, 20, 30 years.

“But I don’t know God’s plan. Just because I love her and I love my children, does that mean there’s something new for me in life? I don’t know. I have to wait my time.”

Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes seemed to be a unlikely couple when they first got together in 2019, with their burgeoning romance captured early last year in some particularly memorable photos of the pair locking lips in a South London kebab shop.

However, it was reported that their romance came to an amicable end in April.

While the pair never officially confirmed it, the Little Mix star went on to delete all traces of the Love Island alum from her Instagram weeks later.

Hughes had featured in Nelson's acclaimed documentary, Odd One Out, which explored the abuse and bullying she had been subjected to because of her appearance.

The programme won an NTA back in January as she attended the ceremony with the reality star, who was later seen engaged in an altercation with a photographer that same night.

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler

Utah authorities say the brother-in-law of Cutler has been missing for more than a week after his abandoned car was found running on a remote dirt road with the air bag deployed. Grand County Sheriff Steven White said Monday that a rancher discovered 30-year-old Michael Cavallari’s car early on Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving. April also saw the demise of reality star Kristin Cavallari and American footballer player Jay Cutler's six year marriage.

The news was delivered via the same post to their respective Instagram accounts stating it was "with great sadness" that they were ending their 10 year relationship.

Clarifying their reasons, they shared: "This is just the situation of two people growing apart."

The pair, who have three children together in Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4, said they had had "nothing but love and respect" for each other.

Clueless actor Stacey Dash announced she was splitting from her fourth husband Jeffrey Marty in May.

In a statement on Instagram, she wrote: “Hello everyone, My husband and I have made the hard decision of ending our marriage.

“After much prayer, I feel this is the right path for both of us. I wish him nothing but the best.

“Thank you everyone for your support and respecting our privacy during this difficult time.”

The couple had been married since 2018. The Dionne Davenport star was previously married to producer Brian Lovell, businessman James Maby and actor Emmanuel Xuereb.

In mid-May, it was reported by People that actor Jaime King had filed for divorce from husband Kyle Newman, to whom she has been married since 2007.

A judge also reportedly granted her a temporary restraining order against Newman, barring him from coming within 100 yards of her until a 8 June hearing.

They have two sons together, James, 6 and 4-year-old Leo.

On a happier note, it seems one couple are working through their troubles.

In May, musician and performer Amanda Palmer shared the news that Neil Gaiman had headed back to the UK from New Zealand due to problems within their relationship.

Posting to her social media, the US star told fans she was alone with their four-year-old son Ash noting that the timing of their separation was "comically bad".

The author confirmed he and his wife of nine years were experiencing "rocky times" before asking for privacy for the sake of their son.

However, Gaiman later clarified via his website they had no intentions of divorcing and that their issues weren’t to do with lockdown, but that they “needed to give each other some space” and would be reuniting again at their home in Woodstock, New York in the future.
