These celebs wore hoodies on Oscar night to pay tribute to Trayvon Martin
Feb. 26 meant more than just awards day for this handful of Hollywood stars. The date marks the five year anniversary of the death of Trayvon Martin, an African American teen whose untimely death rocked a nation. Determined to honour his memory, as well as reflect on the #BlackLivesMatter movement, a group of A-listers have taken to social media to make their feelings known.

A red carpet-ready Ava DuVernay was among those who took the time to reflect, holding a memorial Trayvon Martin hoodie an adding the caption, “Our hoodies are still up and the movement is still strong.”
Kerry Washington was also amongst the names who opened up: “5 years later our hoodies are still up because the movement is still strong! #OurSonTrayvon SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION & GET THE HOODIE,” sharing a link to purchase the sweatshirt.
