Celine Dion continues to cancel concerts due to cold

Celine Dion fans will unfortunately have to wait until March to see their favourite Canadian crooner belt out her hits live. Due to a lingering cold, Celine has been forced to cancel another two of her Las Vegas concerts, bringing the cancellations to a total of seven.

The star shared the sad news to her official Facebook page , writing that the concerts will not be taking place because she has been “suffering for the past week from congestion and irritation of the vocal chords due to a lingering cold.” To prepare her voice for her return in the spring, her physician “has instructed her to rest until these symptoms clear up completely.”

The singer, who turns 50 this year, took to Twitter to share her regrets over the sudden cancellations: “I don’t know what to say, other than I’m truly sorry for having to cancel tonight’s show and the two shows last week. I know that I’m disappointing you, the people who support me the most and it hurts me beyond words. – Céline xx…”

Much to fans’ dismay, the shows will not be rescheduled, though ticketholders will be refunded their ticket prices in full. Despite not being refunded for any hotel stays or flight bookings, the majority of fans been understanding and sympathetic to the star’s situation. While Celine fanatics are sure to be heartbroken over the news, they’ll certainly understand the importance of resting her voice so she can once again belt out her classic hit “My Heart Will Go On”.

One fan posted a heartfelt message on Twitter, saying “Thank you for caring enough to apologize for being sick,” while another of the Quebec native’s loyal followers posted, “Get well Céline! We are there for you. We are all human, we get sick. Love you.”
