Chelsea Clinton tweets 'Please leave Judge Kavanaugh’s daughters alone' after controversial cartoon

Chelsea Clinton is defending the daughters of Brett Kavanaugh, who is accused of sexual assault, after a cartoon mocking one girl was published.

“Please leave Judge Kavanaugh’s daughters alone,” tweeted the 38-year-old daughter of Hillary and Bill Clinton. “They do not belong in your cartoons, “jokes”, or skits. If you can’t make your point about Judge Kavanaugh, whatever it may be, without bullying his kids, it’s not worth making.”

The Sept. 28 illustration, by award-winning cartoonist Chris Britt, shows the Supreme Court nominee’s 10-year-old daughter Liza Kavanaugh kneeling in prayer. “Dear God, forgive my angry, lying, alcoholic father for sexually assaulting Dr. [Christine] Ford,” it said. Britt has created a number of Kavanaugh-themed cartoons, including an oversize gavel bearing the phrase #MeToo threatening to crush Kavanaugh.

Britt was called “disgusting” on social media for involving a minor child in her father’s sexual assault allegations.

On Thursday, during his testimony at the Senate Judiciary Committee, in which he denied sexually assaulting California professor Christine Blasey Ford at a high school party, the 53-year-old judge said, “I intend no ill will to Dr. Ford and her family. The other night, [my wife] Ashley and my daughter Liza said their prayers. And little Liza, all of 10 years old, said to Ashley, ‘We should pray for the woman.’ That’s a lot of wisdom from a 10-year-old. We mean no ill will.” Kavanaugh’s elder daughter Margaret is reportedly a 13-year-old.

Chelsea Clinton has defended various public figures, including children, despite political differences. In August 2017, the former first daughter tweeted, “It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves,” after a reporter smirked in the Daily Caller, “The youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public.”

In June, she supported longtime friend Ivanka Trump after talk show host Samantha Bee called the first daughter a “feckless c–t“ due to a mother-son photo Ivanka Trump tweeted as the president enacted his controversial immigration policies for families.

“It’s grossly inappropriate and just flat-out wrong to describe or talk about Ivanka Trump or any woman that way,” tweeted Clinton.
