Cheryl Hickey pens powerful message about perfectionism: 'This is so true'

Cheryl Hickey believes that present is the new "perfect."

The clip shows Hickey and her daughter clapping hands while the text: "Wellness Wednesday: Have dessert first. Do the dance 60 times because they want it right. Eat on the floor because a picnic that is not a picnic is fun and they will remember more than a perfect table. Snuggle longer. Be the last to let go. Get your hair wet when you go swimming because that signifies you were really down for fun. Dance because they will remember it," appeared on the screen.

"Wellness can mean many things," she captioned the post for her 92,000 followers. "Like, stop trying to be perfect they won’t remember perfect but they will remember you having fun and being really there."

The 46-year-old explained that putting herself first allows her to show up as the best version of herself for her family.

"In order to be there for others, it’s important, especially as women, mothers, and caregivers, that we take care of ourselves first, so that we feel and look our best to take on whatever life throws at us," she wrote.
