Chris Moyles has joked that he's "available" to take over from David Walliams on Britain's Got Talent now that he's out of I'm A Celebrity.

The radio star, 48, was the sixth celeb to be eliminated from the jungle show and appeared on ITV's Lorraine via video to talk about it the following morning.

During the interview he could not resist a quip about reports that Walliams is quitting the entertainment show, just weeks after he apologised for making derogatory remarks about contestants.

During Lorraine, Oti Mabuse had come up as an idea for a replacement if Walliams really does leave, and Moyles joked: "I'm absolutely devastated."

"Devastated Lorraine," he told TV presenter Lorraine Kelly.

"Not to be out of the jungle.

"I thought I was in the running to be on Britain's Got Talent replacing David Walliams and now you are telling me it's somebody else. This is gutting news."

Laughing, Kelly said Moyles could be in with a chance.

"I'm available Lorraine, I am available," said the star, who recently claimed the BBC gave him no notice that he was being replaced by Nick Grimshaw on the Radio 1 breakfast show.

Piers Morgan also had a joke about BGT.

The broadcaster used to be a judge on the programme and tweeted a picture of himself on the panel with Holden and Cowell, asking: "Time to get the old band back together @SimonCowell?"

The Sun has reported that Walliams is stepping down from BGT after 10 years, with a source saying: "He hasn’t taken the decision lightly, but it just feels like time to move on."

A spokesperson for the programme told the PA news agency: “The judging panel for Britain’s Got Talent 2023 will be announced in due course.

“It’s still very much up in the air at the moment on whether David is going to take part in next year’s show. No decision, though, has been made as yet.”
