Chrissy Teigen Gets Fashion Inspiration From Home Decor

Chrissy Teigen’s recent look was inspired by a specific — yet unheard of — Beauty and the Beast character. Of the gown she wore to the film’s premiere on Thursday in Los Angeles, Calif., the model said she was inspired by “The Lamp.”

Considering Teigen got a sneak peak of the movie before it hits theaters nationwide on March 17 (she attended the event with her husband, John Legend, who sings the classic theme song with Ariana Grande), she could be revealing major spoilers. However, the animated version boasts only a candle (Lumiere), clock (Cogsworth), feather duster (Babette), and tea set (Mrs. Potts and Chip).

Clearly, Teigen isn’t up on her Disney trivia, but Luna is less than a year old — not really movie watching age yet — so she’s in the clear.

She did dress for the occasion, though, in an embroidered Raisa & Vanessa gown with a tiered, fringe skirt and sleeves. When a Twitter fan lauded her look, she responded by saying, “Thanks! I’m the lamp!” which garnered tons of “I love lamp” responses.

No one really knows what lamp in particular she was inspired by. Maybe there is one in the movie that didn’t have any lines and didn’t receive credit? The “extra” lamp. Or maybe she meant a non-movie lamp. If she was referring to this one, she nailed it:

People magazine pointed out that she resembles a different character in the film, Sultan, the castle’s footstool-turned-pet dog; her gown featured similar hues and tassels. There’s definitely a little bit of Babette in there, as well, thanks to the femininity of the dress and the deep red lips. Additionally, Teigen’s long dangling sleeves remind us of Lumiere’s flaming hands.

At the same time, Chrissy looked so good Disney may as well create a character inspired by her.
