Chrissy Teigen Just Shut Down Someone Who Asked if She's Pregnant

Chrissy Teigen, the internet's favorite clap-back queen, is it again with the comebacks, even while on vacation. (You would think potential trolls would know this is kind of her thing by now?) After one Instagram user asked if she was pregnant, a question apparently based on the way Teigen was wearing a towel, Teigen had the perfect response—one that both shut down the commenter and explained why comments like that are hurtful.

Teigen, who is currently enjoying a summer vacation in Italy with husband John Legend and their children, has been posting a bunch of fun-filled vacation Instagram Stories—including a series of them parodying an episode of TLC's reality show Four Weddings, in which brides attend and score each others' weddings for the chance to win a luxe honeymoon. Although most moments from Teigen's $20,000 rustic Italian faux-wedding (she adopted the "DIY Bride" role, naturally) disappeared from her Stories after their allotted time, she decided to keep one for an actual Instagram.

In the pic, she's wearing bridal veil and a towel wrapped around her as a dress, and the shot apparently prompted someone to write, "baby bump?" with the thinking face emoji in the comments section (the user seems to have since changed their handle on Instagram). Teigen, who has had issues conceiving in the past—her second child, Miles, was conceived using her last frozen embryo after rounds of IVF—took the time to not just respond but explain why off-the-cuff comments like that can be extra-hurtful.

"I know you didn't mean it to be rude, but think twice about asking this," Teigen responded. "There are people who have trouble conceiving, and it hurts every time."

She added, "I'm not pregnant, but would be happy if I were. But, I'm also happy not to be!" Fair enough.

Many users praised Teigen for being so open and honest with her response—while her brand of clapback shade can be thoroughly enjoyable, her response was totally free of it. One fan noted another reason it can be hard to read or hear this question: "it also hurts when you are trying to lose your baby weight and still have a bump and people ask or think this question," they wrote, adding the disappointed face emoji.

"I'm already reminded of it every time I get out of the shower, I don't need to hear it on the daily lol," Teigen replied.

Handled like a pro, as always.
