Christina Anstead Is Seeking Joint Custody of Son Hudson London Following "Absent Mother" Claims

From House Beautiful

Christina Anstead is making moves. Last week, Anstead's long-time friend Cassie Zebisch confirmed that the 37-year-old Christina on the Coast star had officially filed for divorce from former Wheeler Dealers host Ant Anstead. Now, court documents obtained by In Touch on Friday, November 6 show that Christina is also seeking joint legal and physical custody of their 14-month-old son, Hudson London Anstead.

According to the documents, the HGTV star and Ant Anstead are both not requesting spousal support. They are also paying their own attorney’s fees post-split. Christina cited the reason behind their divorce as "irreconcilable differences."

This news comes just one day after Christina took to Instagram to clap back at "absent mother" claims. In her post, she emphasized that just because she doesn't frequently post photos with her children, it doesn't mean she's not taking care of them. "I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent 🤦🏼♀️ f that," the mother-of-three wrote.

It's unclear if her mention of "who's a better parent" was referring solely to Ant Anstead's social media habits since the split, and/or Tarek El Moussa’s Instagram cadence involving the kids. As a refresher, Tarek El Moussa is Christina’s first ex-husband whom she shares children Taylor and Brayden El Moussa with. Either way, Christina used this post to clarify to her followers that her absence of family photos "doesn’t mean I’m not with my kids - it means the opposite - I am with them- I’m present."

In September, Ant had written on Instagram that "Christina is fine. I am fine. And we remain good friends and will navigate this at our pace." However, despite their amicability, the exes will be conducting business through their respective attorneys. This process is nothing new for either one of them. Christina previously had to work out an arrangement with Tarek El Moussa, as did Ant with his first wife, Louise Anstead.

As of 2018, Christina's standing custody agreement with El Moussa permits him custody of Taylor and Brayden El Moussa every Wednesday through Saturday, as well as the third weekend of every month, according to People. Christina is granted custody every Saturday through Wednesday.

Furthermore, both parents are allowed to take the kids on two week-long summer vacations, either consecutively or non-consecutively. However, in order for the vacation to occur, he/she must exchange their respective vacation days on or before May 1 of each year. The vacationing parent must also provide the other parent with an itinerary and contact information no later than two weeks before the scheduled trip. As for the holidays, Christina and Tarek alternate who gets the kids on Easter Sunday, the Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.

One standout item in their custody agreement forbids each parent from bringing the children into an environment where someone "is making disparaging or derogatory remarks about the other party."

As of right now, it hasn’t been revealed which days Christina is hoping to have custody of Hudson London, and/or what her agreement with Ant will entail.
