For most new mothers, a day is considered a success if you manage to find time to shower.

However, Ciara is not just a regular mom — she’s a rich mom. Unlike her peers, she was hustling in the gym faster than your episiotomy scar can heal.

In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, the singer reveals that after giving birth to her second child, Sienna Princess Wilson in April 2017, she was back in the gym exercising up to three times a day — which is nuts.

“It was kind of like, wake up in the morning, breastfeed, eat a small meal, go train, come back in, breastfeed, eat another meal, go train, then come back, have another meal, and then a third training session at night,” she said.

The 32-year-old “1,2 Step” singer says her decision to hit the gym hard after giving birth to her first child with husband, NFL player Russell Wilson, wasn’t out of vanity.

“It was a good challenge, one I set for myself, not for anyone else. Taking care of myself makes me feel really good. And I want to keep it sexy too, you know.”

Clearly her determination paid off, and the Ciara dropped the 50 pounds that she gained during her pregnancy in less than five months.

While many people would be happy with the weight loss, this isn’t the first time Ciara’s made a speedy bounce-back to her pre-baby weight. In 2015, after she gave birth to her son Future Zahir Wilburn with her former rapper boyfriend, Future, she lost 60 pounds in just four months.

Impressive? Sure. If you have the time and the support to help you get back into the gym that quickly or that often after giving birth, then more power to you. However, when it comes to your postpartum routine, the emphasis should be on making time for self-care in whatever form you choose, rather than getting washboard abs. For some women that could mean taking time for a relaxing bath, for others that’s hitting the gym.

The preoccupation with erasing all signs of the tremendous journey your body has been through shouldn’t detract from your appreciation for what your body helped create. Instead of celebrating on how quickly you can shed your baby weight, why not celebrate a night of interrupted sleep, or your first date night at a nice restaurant. Because at the end of the day, there’s nothing better than a healthy, happy baby and a healthy, happy mama.
