Cindy Crawford’s Look-Alike Daughter, Kaia Gerber, Wins Modeling Award

It’s safe to say Thursday was a big day for Kaia Gerber. The 15-year-old doppelgänger daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford was in New York City to accept the Breakthrough Model of the Year honor at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards at the Park Hyatt hotel. But wait, there’s more: She received the award from none other than designer Marc Jacobs, on the same day it was announced that Gerber would be the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty for 2017, according to Allure.

The statuesque Gerber lit up the New York Fashion Week event in a black midi-length dress with sheer, embellished panels, with her brown locks flowing in loose waves. Mom Crawford was on hand to support her daughter — and to reinforce their striking resemblance, it seems. The 50-year-old icon had on an asymmetrical black dress, and the pair wore matching strappy heels. Also in attendance was the teen’s dad, entrepreneur — and former model — Rande Gerber, 54, as well as her brother, 17-year-old Presley Gerber. You guessed it: He’s a model too!

The fabulous foursome attended the afterparty, thrown by Maybelline, where Gerber changed into an oversize camel-color blazer dress that showed off her mile-long legs. She paired the frock with a black choker and high-heeled booties.

Though Gerber is clearly a bubbly, fresh-faced teen, she also seems to have the versatile chops it takes to be a top model, if her debut shoot for Marc Jacobs Beauty is any indication. In behind-the-scenes shots, Gerber gets vampy for the camera while rocking an edgy red wig, animal print from head to toe, and a face of makeup contoured to accentuate some seriously fierce cheekbones.

“Breaking News: @kaiagerber is the new face of #MarcJacobsBeauty,” the company announced via Instagram yesterday, revealing backstage photos in which its makeup artists prep Gerber to receive her award.

“I’m so excited and honored that my first beauty campaign is with Marc Jacobs, an icon in the fashion industry,” Gerber told Allure exclusively. “I’m obsessed with his beauty products, and like everything else he does, Marc Jacobs Beauty makes you feel feminine and playful.”

Gerber is represented by IMG Models, which signed her in July after she’d already appeared in the Young Versace campaign, the December-January issue of Teen Vogue, and a JCPenney ad with her mom, according to Fashionista. Crawford is also represented by IMG, but was repped by Elite Model Management in her 1990s heyday. IMG also signed bro Presley Gerber, who has already walked runways for high-end brands like Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Gerber’s Instagram shows a free-spirited teen who loves dressing up (and down), playing the guitar, being silly with girlfriends (who include T.Swift), swimming, and Jet-Skiing — all while looking exactly like her mother. Time will tell whether she’ll take the modeling world by storm like Mom too, but we’d say she’s off to a pretty impressive start.
