  • Colton says he would have liked it if Peter was more assertive on the show, which same!

Hello and good afternoon! I hope you’re thirsty, because Colton Underwood is ready to serve up a piping hot cup of tea for you on this fine day. His Bachelor contract is officially up, so he’s no longer tethered to the execs at ABC, and he’s going TF in with his thoughts and opinions on the franchise. Now, he’s set his sights on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor and said Peter could’ve had more of a backbone during the whole thing.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonights Lauren Zima, Colton said Peter could have ended his season with a love interest if he were more assertive. “I just would’ve loved to see Peter stand up for himself more and put his foot down,” Colton said. “I’m not only saying stand up to some of the women on his season but even with production and things going on behind the scenes. I just would’ve loved for Peter to be like, ‘Listen, guys, this is what I want. This is what we need to figure out. We need to get this done.’”

I mean, this is a fair point. Peter straight-up admitted that he made “dumb decisions” on the show because he was overwhelmed by dating too many women at once. To this point, Colton said, “I feel like he was so confused and sort of involved in this mass chaos. I didn’t watch, but that’s what I was getting from Twitter...I mean, Chase Rice [popping up on Victoria Fuller’s date], like, that doesn’t just happen. That was set up.”

“There’s certain things...you just wanna shake him and be like, ‘Dude, take back control. This is your story—you are going to be Peter after this. You’re not going to be the Bachelor forever,’” Colton explained. “So if you want a healthy, strong relationship after this, you are going to have to fight for it.”

In Peter’s defense, he kinda did fight? Despite asking Hannah Ann Sluss to get engaged, he followed his heart anyway and chased after Madison Prewett. But that strong and healthy relationship Colton’s talking about? Yeah...Peter didn’t get that—he and Madison literally broke up a week after the finale.

Colton added, “I think that’s more so what I would’ve wanted to see from him—just some certainty one way or another. Just being like, ‘Listen, I need this. I don’t know if I’m gonna find it here, but at least this is what I need and what I’m gonna fight for.’” I couldn’t have said it any better myself!
