Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street's Sally Metcalfe fears that her husband Tim is dead next week after he goes missing following his latest rows with Stephen Reid.
Sally's mind goes into overdrive as rumours spread around Weatherfield that Stephen may have killed three people.
In next week's episodes, Tim resumes his attempts to investigate Stephen's sinister secrets.
When Brian Packham mentions that Stephen has taken an unusual interest in the local canal dredging project, Tim links this to the villain's recent shifty behaviour.
Tim goes snooping around the canal and is terrified as a corpse's hand floats to the surface.
The cabbie rushes back to his car and calls 999 to report his discovery, but he's interrupted when Stephen pops up in the back of the vehicle.
Stephen tries to strangle Tim with a tie to silence him forever. Tim makes a bid for freedom, but Stephen gives chase and ultimately knocks him unconscious.
As Stephen puts his next murderous plan into action, Tim is left fighting for his life in the boot of his car, which is being doused in petrol by Stephen.
Back on the cobbles, Sally wrongly assumes that Tim has snubbed their wedding anniversary in favour of attending a Weatherfield County match with her ex-husband Kevin Webster.
It's only the following day that Kevin gets a chance to set the record straight, telling Sally that Tim didn't attend the match with him and Kirk Sutherland.
Tim's mum Elaine Jones explains that Stephen appears to have murdered anyone who got in his way.
Sally points out that Tim was one such person – and he's nowhere to be found. As Sally worries that Tim could be dead, could her worst fears be realised?
