Coronation Street's Amy left devastated by Tracy as emotional story continues

Coronation Street's Amy Barlow feels badly let down by her mum Tracy McDonald next week after seeking support following her recent ordeal.
Amy has been suffering in silence over the past few weeks after Aaron Sandford raped her following a night out.

This week's episodes see Amy confide in her parents Tracy and Steve about what happened. She then reports Aaron to the police, but is left disappointed by the outcome.
Next week, Amy is mortified as Tracy responds to this by putting up flyers about Aaron all over town.
Tracy reassures Amy that nobody will figure out she's the other person mentioned on the flyers. However, as gossip and speculation starts to spread around the community, Amy is devastated that people know about her ordeal.
Later, Tracy visits the police station and glues herself to the counter at reception.

Tracy tells the desk sergeant that she's not going anywhere until they take Amy's recent statement about the rape more seriously. With her free hand, she then calls her brother Daniel Osbourne, who has contacts at the local paper.
When Steve and Amy arrive at the station, they're horrified to find Tracy about to give an interview to a reporter from the Weatherfield Gazette. Amy begs her mum to reconsider.
Amy is left so upset by Tracy's behaviour that she changes her story, even though she has been telling the truth from the start.
Aadi Alahan verbally attacks Aaron in the street for what he did to Amy, but Aaron smugly points out that Amy has now stepped in to clear his name.

Aadi and Summer Spellman both call to see Amy and she verifies what Aaron has said, but Summer rightly suspects that Amy was being honest first time around.
Amy's phone later pings with a picture of Aadi and Aaron enjoying themselves at a gig, having made amends.
Summer notices that Amy is uncomfortable but decides not to push it.
Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer, recently explained: "As soon as we got the scripts, I was grateful that Summer does turn around and believe Amy, and from that point on, she's with Amy all the way.
"She never questions Amy, and I think that’s really important because you'd like to think that if you were telling your friend that that happened to you, or if your friend was telling you that something like this had happened to them, you would want them to turn around and be with you."
