A couple in China was executed Wednesday after they were convicted of throwing two toddlers out of the window of a high-rise apartment, according to multiple reports.
China’s supreme courts approved the death sentences of Zhang Bo, the father of the two children, and Ye Chengchen, a woman with whom he began an affair, according to reports from Shine, CNN and China Daily.
Zhang and Ye were convicted of staging an accidental fall in the city of Chongqing in November 2020, which led to the deaths of Zhang’s kids, aged 2 and 1, CNN reported. Authorities said Zhang threw the children out of the 15th-floor window while they were playing, the outlet reported.
The outlets reported that Zhang had started the affair with Ye, initially hiding that he was married with kids. He eventually divorced his wife, but Ye encouraged Zhang to kill his children so they could start a new family, China Daily reported.
