Fans of Crazy Rich Asians have another romantic comedy to look forward to: Kevin Kwan, the author behind the novels that 2018's summer smash was based on, just published another book set in a rarified world—and it's already on track to hit the big screen.

Here's what to expect from the Sex and Vanity movie.

The same production company behind Crazy Rich Asians is involved.

SK Global, the entertainment company that adapted Crazy Rich Asians, purchased the film rights for Sex and Vanity alongside Sony Pictures.

Kwan will produce the movie alongside John Penotti of SK Global. "Seven years ago, Kevin entrusted us (and our producing partners) with his groundbreaking bestseller Crazy Rich Asians, and ever since, working with him has been a creative dream," Penotti told the Hollywood Reporter in a statement. "With Sex and Vanity, he’s once again created a work of magic, crafting a riveting story about love and identity."

It may remind you of a certain Edwardian novel.

Sex and Vanity is loosely based on E.M. Forster's A Room with a View. (As Kwan told Town & Country, "At first, I tried to make it fit the roadmap to a tee, and then said fuck it.")

The plot follows Lucie Churchill, who's trying to decide between two men: the WASPy finance guy she should want, and George Zao, the one she can't stop thinking about.

The project is in very early stages.

Sony Pictures and SK Global just announced plans for the movie this month, so viewers shouldn't expect to see it anytime soon—but Town & Country will be sure to keep this page updated, if any new information is released.
