Curvy professionals post selfies in defense of #TeacherBae
Last week, the Internet exploded after images of fourth grade teacher, Paris Monroe, sparked the viral hashtag #TeacherBae.
“#Teacherbae is the hot topic now. Her tight dress is not professional dress. Her body is banging but her clothing choice needs some maturity,” said Twitter user, @Dreka1913.
Showing off her curves in everything from a Charlotte Hornet’s T-shirt to a bodycon dress, many questioned whether Monroe’s outfits were “appropriate” for a grade school teacher, considering her body type. But others came to her defense.
Within days, other hashtags including #NurseBae, #OfficerBae and #ITBae began cropping up to celebrate other curvy women – who also happen to be professionals.
