Daisy Edgar-Jones Brings The Romance In Grecian Red Gucci Gown And Punk-Inspired Updo
If anyone was going to get their hands on fresh-off-the-runway fashion from Gucci’s SS25 Milan show, it was always going to be Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The actor, who sat FROW at the show alongside fellow actor and brand ambassador Dakota Johnson just last month, was photographed attending the 2024 BFI London Film Festival Luminous Gala on Tuesday in an ankle-grazing maroon-hued halterneck column dress, which featured a slit on the left breast and a gold bamboo-shaped necklace.

Jones, who is styled by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kendall Jenner’s stylist Dani Michele, accessorised the look with two gold bangles – one worn on the bicep and the other on her wrist, as seen on the runway. A pair of coordinated red-coloured patent leather heeled sandals and a Punk-esque spikey-haired updo finished the look perfectly.
Red is a popular hue of choice for celebrities this season, with Chloe Bailey, Lupita Nyong’o, Zoe Saldana and Nathalie Emmanuel choosing the colour for events in the last week.
Edgar-Jones was joined at the gala, which raises money to protect the BFI’s archive, by Hearstopper’s Joe Locke, BAFTA winner Mia-McKenna Bruce, Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd, ELLE UK digital cover star Marisa Abela and more.
Ahead of her stage appearance for the Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Almeida Theatre in December, directed by Rebecca Frecknall, the actor opened about consulting her Normal People co-star and friend Paul Mescal for his advice on the stage.
Mescal made his UK stage debut at the same theatre with the same director in another Williams play, A Streetcar Named Desire.
‘To say I’m excited would be an understatement,’ Edgar-Jones told the Evening Standard at the BFI Luminous gala on Tuesday. Speaking about Mescal, she added: ‘He said Rebecca is the best person to work with, it’s the best rehearsal process, and to just go and enjoy it.’
