Dakota Johnson Put Her Actual Phone Number on Instagram and Here's What Happens When You Call

At the Global Citizen Festival in New York City last week, many people spoke about sexual assault and harassment amid Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination process.

Dakota Johnson was one of those people, and shegave a speechwhere she said she wanted to help women and girls around the country tell their stories.

"This is my phone number," she said. "I want you to call me and tell me your story in a voicemail. Or I want you to send me a message at dakota.johnson@globalcitizen.org and tell me what you've gone through as a women or girl in the world that's been suffering." Then she listed her number while on stage.

Today, she also put it on Instagram with a caption telling people to leave her a message. It's her only post on Instagram.

When you actually call, you can hear her voice in a pre-recorded voicemail saying "This is Dakota Johnson. Please leave a voicemail after the tone and I will record and share your story so we can live in a world where she is equal. Thank you."

It's unclear whether this is still her working number or if it's used solely for this purpose, and it's also unclear what will actually happen to the messages after the fact. But it seems like someone will be listening regardless, which is very cool.
