Dancing With the Stars' Fans Are Fuming at Judge Len Goodman for His "Unfair" Call

Season 30 of Dancing With the Stars is far from over and it it just keeps getting more interesting ... or, for some, more heartbreaking.

On Monday night’s episode, Spice Girls member Melanie C and Youtube influencer Olivia Jade found themselves in the bottom two and judge Derek Hough only had one question: “America, what have you done?”

The shocking results came after Grease Night when Olivia and her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy hit the dance floor to perform the Foxtrot to “Summer Nights.” Judge Len Goodman called it “fun” and "entertaining.” He told Olivia that she was “becoming one heck of a dancer” and his fellow judges — Derek, Bruno Tonoli and Carrie Ann Inaba — agreed. In the end, the YouTuber and Val got a total score of 36 out of 40.

Meanwhile, Melanie and her pro partner Gleb Savchenko graced the ballroom to do the Quickstep to “You’re the One That I Want.” Bruno and Carrie Ann praised her for her “confidence” and “vulnerability.” Len said it was her "best dance" yet. The duo ended up also receiving a score of 36 out of 40.

But then the real surprise came. Host Tyra Banks announced that Olivia and Melanie were facing elimination and it would be up to one judge to decide their future on the show. “If after Len’s vote there is a tie among the judges, then as our head judge, Len’s vote automatically breaks the tie,” she said. Per a new rule this year, Len's vote has the most weight, and if judges are divided, whoever he picks goes on to the next round.

With that, Derek voted to save Olivia while Carrie Ann and Bruno chose Melanie C. In his signature way, Len shared a few words with the couples before declaring that Olivia was staying and Melanie was leaving. Although the TV screen cut to black, folks watching at home didn’t quickly forget Len's decision.

“Len chose to keep Olivia Jade over Melanie C no one talk to me I’m upset,” one person wrote. “Melanie C was absolutely robbed on #dwts. She deserved better,” another added. “Sporty spice went home on DWTS?! RIOOOOOOT,” a different fan said. “NOT SPORTY SPICE !!!!!!!” a follower commented. “SO unfair! Melanie (Sporty Spice) was the best dancer on this season. I’m mad,” someone else tweeted.

Behind the scenes, Melanie was just as surprised by the decision. Speaking candidly in a short video posted to Twitter, she tried to hold back tears and looked for the silver lining in the situation.

“You just never know what’s going to happen, but I feel just a little bit in shock," she said. "It feels really, really weird. Thank you for everyone who supported me. In all honesty, I’ve been giving myself such a hard time. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. This show is wonderful. It's really hard. I have so much respect for everybody who does it. But the good thing is that means I can get on with some new music."
