Davina McCall has revealed that she is rather "p****d off" off about her latest, lesser-known menopause symptom.

In a refreshing honest disclosure, the 54-year-old TV star revealed that she had discovered a series of "big fat black wiry hairs" on her chin, and feared that she was growing a "beard".

In a video shared to Instagram, the presenter said: "Hi, welcome to menopause Monday. I am really, really p****d off.

"I just looked under my chin in a certain light, in a certain mirror and there was a big fat wiry black hair.

"And I thought: 'One big fat wiry black hair, that's fine, I can pluck it out.'

"Then I looked again and there were two more big fat black wiry hairs... that's a beard!"

Captioning the clip – which has been viewed more than 156,000 times – McCall quipped: "Interrupting current news chaos with an important update.

"But seriously... facial hair growth... can be another symptom caused by hormonal changes in menopause."

Her post resonated with social media users who left more than 800 comments – with many fans admitting to having had the same experience.

McCall – who shares three children with ex-husband Matthew Robertson – has long been open about her personal menopause journey in an effort to raise awareness of this life stage.

According to the NHS, the menopause is when your periods stop, due to fluctuating hormone levels and it usually happens between the ages of 45 and 55.

Last year, The Masked Singer judge revealed that she initially thought her menopausal brain fog was "some kind of dementia".

Speaking to The Sun, the star – who fronted the much-praised Channel 4 documentary Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and the Menopause  said: "I thought it was something that happened in your 50s. You got a couple of hot flushes and were through it."

She added: "And the brain fog. I remember sitting on the drive and looking at some grass, thinking: 'What’s the word for that?' I thought it was some kind of dementia."
