Demi Lovato Just Confirmed She's Dating Max Ehrich By Crashing His Instagram Live

While most celebrity couple's announce the status of a new relationship on social media with adorably staged PDA-filled photos, Demi Lovato took a different approach entirely when confirming she's dating actor Max Ehrich.

On Saturday, Ehrich — who is reportedly quarantining at Demi's house — began playing the piano for his 1 million followers during an Instagram Live session. Moments later, the signer strolled into the room, showing up in the frame. "I'm on Live," he mouthed to her twice, before she realized she was being recorded. Covering her face with a blanket, Demi scurried out of the room while letting out a nervous laugh.

An accidental cameo isn't the most conventional way to go Instagram official, but it still counts, right?

"He is a good influence on Demi and they have a lot in common," the insider at E! shared. "They have a few mutual friends in common, but Demi has been introducing Max to her closest friends via Facetime since being quarantined."

However, they allegedly aren't boyfriend-girlfriend (at least not yet). "It's very new but they are definitely hanging out and seeing where it leads," the source added. "They have spent a lot of time together but I wouldn't say it's an exclusive relationship yet." With weeks, maybe months of quarantine remaining, anything is possible.
