Demi Lovato Posts a Makeup-Free Selfie For the First Time In "Years"
No stranger to sharing empowering images on Instagram, Demi Lovato posted a selfie in celebration of #NoMakeupMonday and told her followers that it was a refreshing break from all the full-on glam that she'd been filling her feed with recently. She's still telling everyone to be proud of everything they've got and that the message is clear: she's "accepting" herself just the way she is.
In the Instagram post, Lovato is indeed makeup-free, with her freckles on full display. She says that while fans are accustomed to seeing her in full stage makeup, today's post is more representative of her reality, at least "85%-90%" of the time.

"Haven't done a #NoMakeupMonday in yearssss but I figured after posting so many glamorous pics with tons of makeup and hair pieces, it’s important to show myself underneath it all. This is what I look like 85%-90% of the time," she wrote. "Proud of my freckles, proud of booty chin and proud of myself for loving and accepting myself the way I am."

The post comes in the wake of a report last weekend which stated that Lovato was confronting her exercise addiction.
"There were times I lived at the gym. I'd eat a meal, go work out. And that's not happiness to me. That's not freedom," she said, according to the Washington Post. "I was just running myself into the ground, and I honestly think that that’s kind of what led to everything happening over the past year. "It was just me thinking I found recovery when I didn't, and then living this kind of lie and trying to tell the world I was happy with myself when I really wasn't."
Lovato's famous friends, including Scooter Braun and Kelsea Ballerini, offered up words of support on her selfie, but a fan said it best: "So happy you’re accepting yourself for the beautiful being you are. You should be so proud of yourself. You look amazing! Thanks for sharing! You are a true inspiration!"
