From Town & Country

Now that you've had 24 hours to process the fact that Anthony Scarmucci was fired as White House communications director before his formal start date, let's turn our attention to why his tenure in the West Wing was so short.

When news broke yesterday that Scaramucci's tenure would end after just 10 days, it was reported by the New York Timesthat new Chief of Staff John Kelly made the call to fire Scaramucci, and that President Trump agreed to it.

“The president certainly felt that Anthony’s comments were inappropriate for a person in that position,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, an oblique reference to Scaramucci's phone call with New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza, and the subsequent article about their expletive-laced conversation. “He didn’t want to burden General Kelly, also, with that line of succession.”

It now appears that Melania and Ivanka Trump may have also played a role in his firing. According to NBC News sources, the first daughter and first lady were "disgusted" by Scaramucci's foul language.

Of course, if NBC's report is true - and we have no reason to believe otherwise - the women in Trump's life have gone soft. Just ten months ago, Melania was dismissing her husband's infamous "Grab 'em by the pussy" comment as "boy talk." while Ivanka accepted his apology and moved on.
