Diddy Opens Up About Kim Porter's Death With Touching Instagram Post

"I've been trying to wake up out of this nightmare."

Kim Porter, Sean "Diddy" Combs's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his four children, was found dead in her home last Thursday. It wasn't until late Saturday, however, that Diddy himself released a statement about her passing. People reports that he posted a touching tribute to her on Instagram, taking time to recount how much he loved her.

The throwback video shows the pair during a photo shoot, with soft music playing and obvious love and respect between the two. People adds that while the two had been separated Diddy and Porter still maintained a close relationship for their family.

"He and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work," a source told People. "They were still a family."

The Instagram post has been Diddy's only statement following Porter's death. While the cause of death is still unknown, TMZ reports that the emergency call came in for cardiac arrest. Porter had been dealing with pneumonia for several weeks.

"For the last three days I've been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven't," Diddy wrote on Saturday. "I don't know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I'm going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER S—!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love."
