Prince Charles might be known for the quirky nicknames he's bestowed upon his royal family members, but as it turns out, the Prince of Wales has been given his a cute moniker of his own by his grandchildren. .

Per Express U.K., Royal author Robert Hardman revealed that all three of the Cambridge kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—refer to Charles as “Grandpa Wales” (after his official title, of course). How formal. The name could also stem from the fact that Queen Elizabeth used to call her grandfather, King George V, "Grandpa England.” We think we’re sensing an adorable theme here.

Hardman also opened up about the close relationship the 71-year-old has with his eldest son and eldest grandson. “Charles increasingly consults the Duke of Cambridge in all major family decisions; about his hopes that, while his sons have created new charity networks, one of his grandchildren—maybe George—will one day take on the stewardship of his own,” he continued.

As we mentioned before, Prince Charles is no stranger to nicknames. He and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, are speculated to call each other “Fred” and “Gladys” (although, details on the backstory for these names are pretty scant).

We’ve also heard rumblings that Prince Charles has a nickname for Meghan Markle—“Tungsten.” According to Cosmo, the Prince of Wales gave his daughter-in-law the name after he likened her tough personality to the metal with the highest melting point. Interesting.

Out of all of the royal nicknames we’ve heard, “Grandpa Wales” is definitely at the top of our favorites list.
