Is Donald Trump Jr. boycotting Nike? If a picture’s worth a thousand words, his latest Instagram post tells quite a story.

The president’s son shared a set of photos on Saturday that, at first glance, seem innocent and politics-free enough. Trump Jr. took his son, Donald Trump III, horseback riding in British Columbia. He posted photos of the two of them riding through the countryside, with the horses even wading through water at one point. But some fans noticed something distinctive about Trump III’s outfit. The boy is wearing an Under Armour top, and the logo is clearly visible in the third photo Trump Jr. posted.

Of course, that might not mean anything — he likely already owned the shirt before this week. But considering Nike’s recent ad campaign reveal, some people think Trump Jr. is taking a stand against the company.

Nike’s new campaign features Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers player who started the “Take a Knee” movement to protest police brutality. The ads don’t sit well with some conservatives, who believe the movement is anti-American. After Nike announced the new campaign, some people shared photos of themselves cutting up and even burning Nike products in protest. (The images were quickly followed by a number of people’s tweets asking upset customers to donate Nike products rather than destroy them.)

Some commenters on Trump Jr.’s Instagram post left positive messages about Nike’s campaign, suggesting they thought Trump Jr. was boycotting Nike. “Colin Kaepernick. Believe in something,” one person commented.

Others praised Trump Jr. for his son’s clothing. “Glad to see his shirt is Under Armour,” one person wrote in the comments. “I like his Under Armour shirt. No more Nike I guess,” another person wrote. “Rocking that Under Armour,” a third comment reads.

President Trump flexed his Twitter fingers on Friday, writing “What was Nike thinking?”

Trump also tweeted that “Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts.” That doesn’t seem to be the case, though — MarketWatch reported Saturday that Nike’s online sales are up 31 percent since the company revealed the new campaign.

Again, it’s not clear whether Trump Jr. meant to take a stand against Nike with his new Instagram post, but he did post a meme about the company’s decision to feature Kaepernick in its new campaign earlier this week.

So, it may have been a conscious decision for him to avoid anything with the Nike logo. Whether Trump Jr.’s choice was intentional or not, some of his followers sure think so and are praising him for his son’s shirt.
