Another day, more X drama, as Donald Trump Jr.’s account was hacked Wednesday morning and posted a series of wild messages, including one claiming his father, former president Donald Trump, died.
The series of posts included “I’m sad to announce, my father Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024,” “This just in: North Korea is about to get smoked,” “Some interesting messages with Jeffrey Epstein,” and, charmingly, “I also fucked your girl btw @LoganPaul.”

The messages were posted in a spree around 8:25 am ET, and took half an hour to be removed and for the account to be restored.
This hacking comes just weeks after the elder Trump’s X account was restored following his arrest in Fulton County, Ga. Although his account was banned in January 2021 after the storming of the Capitol by his followers, Musk restored it in November 2022. Trump’s return tweet on Aug. 24 included a picture of his mugshot and slogans like “ELECTION INTERFERENCE” and “NEVER SURRENDER!”
Previously this week, X was in the news as Elon Musk suggested he might charge users on the platform a fee in order to reduce the number of fake accounts.
“We’re moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the X system,” Musk said during a panel on Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying “it’s the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.” The X owner claimed the fee would only be “a few dollars or something.”
Meanwhile, former president Trump was a guest on Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” chatting with new host Kristen Welker in a pre-taped interview.
