'I am horrified': Dua Lipa speaks out after security at her Shanghai show ejects fans waving LGBTQ flags

Dua Lipa was reportedly left in tears after fans were forcibly removed from her concert in Shanghai.

Concertgoers voiced outrage on social media as they shared videos of security workers forcibly removing people from the show during her first tour of China.

Some said people were ejected for standing up during the performance, while others said they were targeted for waving flags promoting LGBTQ rights.

Another said security had “forbidden fans” from standing up or waving LGBTQ flags, and claimed that the drama had Lipa herself in tears.

“I want us all to dance,” the visibly upset pop star reportedly told the crowd. “I want us all to sing, I want us all to just have a really good time. … I would love in these last few songs for us to really, really, really enjoy ourselves. How about that?”

Update, 8 a.m. EST: Lipa has now addressed the Shanghai uproar in an Instagram post, which notes that she was “horrified” by the situation. She added that she is “proud and grateful” of the fans who showed their LGBTQ pride.
