Kate Middleton is fully embracing her spring wardrobe by opting for bright, vivid colors.

At a garden party held at Buckingham Palace today, the Duchess of Cambridge greeted guests while wearing a vibrant coral pink coat dress from Emilia Wickstead.

The midi dress featured long-sleeves, a belt at the waist, and a flowing skirt. She accessorized in a matching fascinator from London-based milliner Jane Taylor, a vintage beaded clutch, diamond drop earrings from Kiki McDonough, and peachy pumps from Emmy London.

Kate was joined by Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, for the spring outing. Edward wore a black tail coat, a purple tie, a gray vest, pinstriped trousers, and a black top hat.

Kate and husband Prince William recently embarked on a two-day trip to Scotland, where the royal couple met with groups who worked on mental health awareness.

To kick off their visit, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first headed to Glasgow to participate in a Roots of Empathy session, a program that helps children identify their own feelings and the feelings of others, at St. John's Primary School. The program additionally serves as an early intervention initiative run by one of Kate's passion projects, Action for Children, according to People.

Kate has long been known for her passion in early childhood development. Last June, she took her work in the field to the next level by announcing The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

"My own journey into understanding the importance of early childhood actually started with adults, and not with children," she explained in a video posted to the Cambridges' Instagram account last year. "It was about prevention. I wanted to understand what more we could do to help prevent some of today's toughest social challenges, and what more we could do to help with the rising rates of poor mental health."
