Duffy says opening up about rape ordeal was 'liberating'
Duffy has said she feels liberated after revealing that she was drugged, held captive and raped.
The Mercy singer first spoke out about her traumatic ordeal in February, saying she had kept away from the public eye following the trauma but was now ready to talk about it.

Addressing fans in an Instagram post during the coronavirus lockdown, Duffy urged people to talk about their feelings.
She said sharing her own story had been “liberating”.
“This evening, I can’t sleep ... I have the comfort of my bed and the health of all my family, to take shelter in, but many do not,” wrote the Welsh star.
“Health workers face fatigue, with such uncertainty ahead, people are queuing at empty food banks and the landscape is changing.
“You may or may not have read my words, recently. I found them to be liberating.
“And so I would sincerely like to know, how are you?”
Duffy, 35, went on: “Tonight, some of us grieve the easing of enforced lockdown - and some of us appreciate it. The sense of security found in a common goal, a shared goal, is changing and could now stand to divide, which it must not, above all, in adapting to a new uncertainty.
“And so, I want to create a post where you can talk openly about how you are doing. I invite you to write here, if you would like that.
“I look forward to reading how you are, about your life, and current experiences. For you to share your stories visibly with others too, here.”

Writing on Instagram in February, the singer told fans: “Many of you wonder what happened to me, where did I disappear to and why? The truth is, and please trust me I am ok and safe now, I was raped and drugged and held captive over some days.”
She went on: “Of course I survived. The recovery took time. There’s no light way to say it. But I can tell you in the last decade, the thousands and thousands of days I committed to wanting to feel the sunshine in my heart again, the sun does now shine.”
Duffy first found fame aged 20 on talent show Wawffactor, the Welsh version of The X Factor.
After being signed by A&M records she shot to fame in 2007 with her debut album Rockferry, finding success in Europe and the US and winning a Grammy in 2009.
