Dunkin' Donuts Is Releasing Candy That Tastes Just Like Their Coffee
Dunkin' Donuts loves nothing more than to experiment with its flavors. Just this year, it tested heart-shaped donuts for Valentine's Day, a menu inspired by Girl Scout cookies, galaxy-inspired donuts and Coolattas, donut fries, and even Dunkin' sneakers. And now, there's yet another way to satiate your sweet tooth: Dunkin' Donuts candies.

According to the Instagram account Junk Food Mom, Dunkin' Donuts Coffee Thins, branded as a "creamy coffee treat," were first spotted at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago. The thins are made with chocolate and Dunkin' coffee beans. They come in Peppermint Mocha, Pumpkin Spice, and Caramel flavors. "Coffee flavor is not overpowering and the chocolate is as described and creamy," Junk Food Mom noted.
There are 7 mg of caffeine per piece of chocolate, so don't expect to get an equivalent coffee buzz from these treats. An average cup of coffee has around 95 mg of caffeine, while milk chocolate usually has around 6 mg per ounce, according to Ghirardelli.
Dunkin' Donuts issued the following statement to Delish, noting they originally tested the thins back in 2014, and they're hoping to make them available in grocery stores later this year. But nothing is set in stone so far:
"As a coffee leader, Dunkin' Donuts is committed to innovation and exploring new ways to offer consumers more options for enjoying the taste of our signature coffee while on-the-go. We tested Coffee Thins, which are pre-packaged wafers made using our brand's high-quality coffee beans, inside Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in 2014, and we are currently in discussions with Tierra Nueva to make Coffee Thins available at grocery stores and other retail channels later this year. We haven't finalized the specific details on the flavors or timing for the national launch at this time."
