An Etsy retailer is selling a plate in honour of the May 19 royal nuptials that features a picture of another famous British redhead, Ed Sheeran.

The seller, Lucy Bryant, lists the plate for £25 ($44.57 CAD) with the description, “Celebrate THE wedding of the year with this beautiful china plate featuring portraits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Whether you choose to eat your toast and Marmite (Harry’s favourite snack) from it, or hang it on your wall, this plate won’t fail to raise a smile and evoke pride in our country’s most cherished couple.”

Thanks to social media, the Etsy orders are flooding Bryant’s way, and she’s had to start taking pre-orders to keep up with the demand. A photo of the plate was even retweeted by former royal chef, Darren McGrady.

While many think this is a comical mishap, Bryant insists it was on purpose. She explains that she was inspired by a mug that accidentally featured a photo of Prince Harry instead of William when the Prince wed Kate Middleton in 2011.

“It’s entirely deliberate. I bought a Kate/Wills mug when they got married and when it arrived, it was a picture of Harry instead of William,” she told the Daily Mail. “It inspired me to do something similar, and when I was thinking of a random redhead, I thought Ed would be perfect. It’s been pretty popular!”

With Ed Sheeran rumoured to be performing for the royal couple, we think Bryant’s plate would be the perfect wedding gift for the newlyweds.
