From Woman's Day

After three weeks of competition, The Masked Singer introduced a new group of costumed celebrities who would battle it out for a spot in the Top Nine. Among the creatures was the Elephant, who looked like he came straight out of a Transformers movie.

Before the he even belted a tunes, the Elephant made audience members' and judges' jaws drop with his stature and somewhat intimidating costume. And he only wowed them more when he belted out "Friday (I'm In Love)" by The Cure.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to save him from elimination. The audience and judges voted to eliminate the Elephant from the competition. This may have been, however, because they were so stumped by the clues they just needed to know.

Who is The Elephant?

The Elephant turned out to be legendary skate boarder Tony Hawk, a reveal that shocked audience members and judges.

The judges were made at themselves for not guessing the multi X-Games victor, which Robin Thicke saying if there had been any skateboard in the clue package, they would have known. (Gee, I wonder why they didn't include them.)

If, however, you rewatch the clue package, some of the clues are a little obvious. For starter, the Elephant made an "X" with his drum sticks, a nod to Hawk's multiple X-Game appearances. Additionally, birds made multiple appearances in the clue package, serving as a reference to Hawk's last name and his skateboard company Birdhouse.

As for the White House reference, Hawk said he skateboarded through the White House during a Father's Day event in 2010.

(There is, however, no explanation as to why drums were so heavily featured in the clue package. Perhaps that was just a red herring to throw off viewers.)

When it was time for him to say goodbye, Hawk thanked the judges for their support — and for eliminating him.

"I had one more song in me, but I didn't want to go much further, so thank you for releasing me," he said with a laugh before performing one last time.
