Before Prince Harry found "the one" with Meghan Markle, the young royal had quite the rep as a bachelor. Besides longtime girlfriend Chelsy Davy, tabloids once linked the prince to actress Cressida Bonas, singer Mollie King, model Florence Brudenell-Bruce, X Factor host Caroline Flack, and TV presenter Natalie Pinkham.

The most famous (rumored) fling of them all, however, might attend his wedding. British singer Ellie Goulding has apparently received a gilded invite to the May 19th nuptials at Windsor Castle, potentially joining Davy and Bonas, according to the Sun.

The 31-year-old songwriter topped charts with hits like "Lights," "Burn," "Anything Can Happen," and most recently "Love Me like You Do," the Grammy-nominated performance from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Her electropop sound got her an early in with the royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge invited Ellie to perform at their wedding reception all the way back in 2011. Three years later, she befriended Prince Harry after meeting up at the Invictus Games. Photos show them hanging out and exchanging a warm hug at the charity event.

The celebs didn't really fuel relationship rumors until June 2016, when they both attended the Audi Polo Challenge in London. Prince Harry and his brother both played for their respective charities in front of a star-studded crowd reportedly including Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hardy, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, and yes, Ellie Goulding.

The pair supposedly canoodled and shared a kiss under a blanket at the late-night after party, the Sun claimed. "Harry and Ellie only had eyes for each other all night," their source said. “But there’s already a lot of talk amongst friends that the palace wouldn’t allow her as a serious girlfriend because of her celebrity background.”

Whatever actually happened remains a mystery, but Ellie (somewhat) addressed the rumors in an interview a few weeks later. "Why did I have a feeling that was going to come up?" she told the interviewer when asked about the royal connection. "You naughty people.”

The buzz about the two of them fizzled out not long afterwards - probably because Prince Harry had already met his wife-to-be. The royal first synced up with the Suits actress in July 2016, a month after the polo event. Fast forward to now and they're less than two months away from their highly anticipated wedding.

Whether Ellie Goulding will be in attendance remains to be seen, but there's no denying she would provide a seriously stunning performance for a potential first dance.
