Emilia Clarke's fans are coming after her new pixie haircut: 'You look old'

When did hair-shaming become the new mom-shaming?

Emilia Clarke is the third female celebrity this week to get grief because of her hairstyle, following Chrissy Teigen‘s takedown of a troll who said her new bob made her face look “huge” and the negative reactions to Julianne Hough’s shorter ‘do.

And now people are taking aim at the tousled pixie cut Clarke showed off on social media Thursday. Though Game of Thrones fans are familiar with the long, blond locks of her character, Daenerys, they are actually just a wig. The British actress is a natural brunette whose most recent cut was a blunt bob.

Now she’s gone even shorter, with a crop inspired by the his-and-hers pixies former lovebirds Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt rocked in the mid-’90s.

While the chop earned raves from celebrity pals like Gabrielle Union, Sarah Paulson, and GoT co-star Nathalie Emmanuel, some fans just can’t seem to deal with that mother-of-dragons mane going MIA.

“I don’t like this hairstyle at all on you,” read one comment.

“You are old, Emilia Clarke,” griped another troll, while another pleaded, “Please don’t cut your hair again. Let it be long. You look better with long hair, Emilia.”

One critic called it the “haircut of an 11-year-old boy,” while others said she looked like a woman who “wants to speak to the manager.” A GoT viewer also compared it to the punishment pixie Cersei (Lena Headey) got ahead of her walk of shame in the show’s fifth season.

So many unsolicited opinions! Where are those fire-breathing dragons when you need them?
