Emma Watson Says Women's Votes "Could Swing This Election"

From Harper's BAZAAR

Emma Watson, a British citizen, can't vote in this election, but she won't sit idly during it either. A strong promoter for women's rights, the actress-turned-activist took to Twitter today to encourage American women to vote next month.

"The next president will be able to make decisions about women, about their bodies, about how they are treated at work, on university campuses and at school, about how men treat women and about their rights as citizens," she said. "These decisions affect how young people form their ideas of gender."

The fraction of female voters is greater than one might assume, the actress pointed out. In the last election, 70 million women voted compared to 60 million men. "Women, your vote could swing this election," she added.
