It's the one time of the year when you can wear all things sequined, silver, and sheer for no reason at all. Take, for instance, Eva Longoria’s latest appearance in what may just be one of her best (and glitziest!) gowns to date.

On Thursday, Longoria attended the 50th annual Women in Film Honors in Hollywood, taking home the Crystal Award for Advocacy. Looking like the epitome of Hollywood glamor, the actress donned a sheer silver sequined chainmail two-piece set featuring a chainmail mock-neck and long sleeves with a coordinating high-waisted midi skirt. The actress accessorized the glitzy ensemble with a champagne-colored pair of platform strappy heels, and she kept the shimmer going by adding diamond drop earrings.

In a new interview for Elle’s 2023 Women in Hollywood issue, the actress opened up about her deep roots in social justice and activism. “There are things that are a lot more important than box office and viewers," she told the publication. "Women’s rights are very important."

Adding, “The dismantling of human rights, of health care systems, of education systems. The banning of books. These are very dangerous things that need to be talked about, looked at, voted on, and advocated for. So it’s not an ‘Oooh, do I do it?’ I have to do it. It is non-negotiable. I don’t ever think, ‘I’m going to alienate half an audience’ or ‘I’m going to lose some Twitter fans.’ That doesn’t matter to me if I’m saving democracy.”
