Evangeline Lilly has debuted a buzzcut on social media.

The ‘Lost’ and ‘Ant-Man’ actor shared a series of video clips of herself shaving off all her hair on Instagram.

Lilly, who turned 40 earlier this year, captioned the post “#homecut”, teasing her dramatic change to her 2.4 million followers with the caption: “Stop or keep going??”

The video footage starts with her tying her shoulder length hair up in twin buns before snipping it to ear-length.

Fans have praised the look, with one writing “You look adorable” and another added, “With or without hair, you always looks incredible”.

Another person wrote: “Omg!!!! Your hair!!! So bad ass.”

It is at present unclear whether this new look is for an upcoming acting role (following in the footsteps of Anne Hathaway and Demi Moore).

It may also be the case that Lilly simply fancied a change.

Actor and activist Rose McGowan, who shaved off her hair in 2015, called the transformation “liberating”, while model Agyness Deyn’s blonde buzzcut helped her stand out from others in the industry.

For Halle Berry, a less drastic pixie cut proved a game-changer for her career.

The 52-year-old ‘Monster’s Ball’ actor, who rocked a pixie cut from the late 80s up until 2004, claimed the look was directly responsible for her winning her first major role in US sitcom ‘Living Dolls’.

“I had no hair to hide behind, it was just all me,” she told US publication InStyle.
